Is it really AI or more like II?

Artificial Intelligence or Imitation Intelligence?

According to the American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition it defines AI as the following 7 definitions. I also included the definition of Artificial and Imitation. I think if you look closely and holistically of all 3 definitions you may soon agree with me and if not post up your comments because I’d be interested in hearing them. The first definition for artificial clearly depicts it as an imitation of something natural, in this case humans. The first definition of imitation says something derived or copied from an original, often in an inferior way. Now let’s think about that for a moment. Artificial is an imitation and an imitation is derived or copied from an original and often inferior. So in the end is our current iteration of AI better defined as II and something that needs far more work than we think? As Pope Leo said AI isn’t human, can’t love, like, hate or interact like a human. You can only get AI to perform work by feeding it what you want, sounds like the first definition of imitation. Well I think we can argue this on and on but there is one thing I know, AI is not replacing the human anytime soon. It may save us time on monotonous tasks and number crunching but beyond that a human is needed to validate the accuracy of any output. Also any output AI performs you better know enough about the subject matter to speak to it and if not, don’t try to make your stance on something not understood. Lastly one more thing AI is not, it is not though leadership. The human mind is far superior to AI or II!
